Calkins Rallies Support for Troops

In late June, Blaine Calkins, MP asked the municipalities in the Constituency of Wetaskiwin to show their support for Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan by displaying a Support our Troops decal on their emergency response vehicles.

Calkins said, “Every day, Canadian soldiers put their lives on the line and, in spite of incredible challenges, concrete progress is being achieved.  This endeavour is intended solely to recognize their bravery and sacrifice.”

So far, the Municipal Councils of Lacombe, Ponoka, Eckville and Bentley as well as Brazeau and Clearwater County have climbed on board.  The members of the Canadian Forces and thier families appreciate the support they receive from folks at home and this is a great way to say thanks to them.
