What's New
In response to an unprecedented situation, Governor General Michaelle Jean allowed the prorogation of the House of Commons until January 26th.
I want to thank the overwhelming number of Constituents who called and emailed me to express their concerns and views on the political crisis brought on by the formation of the Liberal, NDP separatist coalition.
The message was loud and clear. Canadians want us to tackle the issues facing the country and to provide leadership during these difficult times. This cooling off period will give us an opportunity to prepare and consult widely on a budget that will be presented when Parliament resumes. Until then, our focus will be on ensuring that the budget addresses the current economic problems and ensures that the country is well positioned for the months and years ahead.
Regards,
Blaine Calkins, MP Wetaskiwin
