Calkins elected Chair of Canada – Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group

Ottawa, Ontario:  Blaine Calkins, MP for Wetaskiwin was re-elected Chairman of the Canada – Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group at the annual general meeting held on May 26, 2009.

Mr. Calkins said that he was thrilled to once again have the opportunity to chair this Association.  “Over the past year, we strengthened the bonds between our great nations,” said Calkins. 

The Canada – Poland Parliamentary Friendship Group is an organization of Canadian Parliamentarians who are working to foster friendship and goodwill with the Polish community.

“I look forward to working to advance the cooperative relationship with the Polish Diaspora in Canada,” said the Wetaskiwin MP.
