Alix, Alberta-- Blaine Calkins, MP for Wetaskiwin and Ray Prins, MLA for Lacombe-Ponoka, announced funding for upgrades to the CNR Overpass on Hwy 12. The Government of Canada will invest up to $226,500 in the project, and the Province of Alberta will contribute the balance for a total joint contribution of $453,000.

Rocky Mountain House -- Blaine Calkins, MP for Wetaskiwin and Ty Lund, MLA for Rocky Mountain House announced upgrades to Hwy 22, between Hwy 11 and Hwy 53. The Government of Canada will invest up to $9,899,500 in the project, and the Province of Alberta will contribute the balance for a total joint contribution of $19,799,000.

Thorsby -- Through the Community Participation and Leadership component of the New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Government of Canada is supporting local projects that enable seniors to contribute to their communities through social participation and active living. Thorsby's Senior Citizens Club will receive $9,065 for their project to teach the young people basic traditional cooking methods.

The Government of Canada through the Enabling Accessibility Fund announced funding of $50,000 to enable wheelchair accesible washrooms to the Rundle Mission Guest House. This will help expand opportunities for people with disabilities.

Residents of Eckville will benefit from Federal funds provided through the Infrastructure Stimulus Funding program to complete the North Outlet Storm Water Management Project and the Lift Station and Force Main Upgrade announced by Blaine Calkins, MP.
The Town of Lacombe has been awarded $365,460 under the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) program for the construction of a new field house that will include locker rooms, a storage facility, washrooms, first aid station and concession.
